Sustainability isn't a section of our business.
It's the reason Bean Around exists.
When we started Bean Around, the idea was simple. Take something that was being thrown away every single day and turn it into something genuinely useful. Used coffee grounds from local coffee shops around Dún Laoghaire, destined for the bin, collected and given a second life as the active ingredient at the heart of our entire skincare range.
That idea hasn't changed. Every product we make starts there.
How it works
Every gram of coffee grounds in every Bean Around product has already served its purpose once. It fuelled someone's morning coffee in a local café, a busy hotel, or a coffee roaster right here in Ireland. Then, instead of going to waste, it makes its way to us and ends up in your skincare routine.
That's what a circular economy looks like when it actually works. Not offsetting. Not compensating. Just designing waste out of the process from the very beginning. It feels good to make something new from something that would otherwise be thrown away. We hope it feels good to use it too.
Why coffee grounds matter
The global coffee industry produces over 6 million tonnes of spent coffee grounds every year. Most of them end up in landfill, where they decompose and release methane into the atmosphere. By collecting and repurposing these grounds locally, we're taking them out of that waste stream entirely and putting them to work in your shower instead.

Working with businesses across Ireland
What started with a few local coffee shops in Dún Laoghaire has grown into something we're really proud of. We now work with corporate companies, coffee roasters and hotels across Ireland to collect and repurpose their spent coffee grounds into bespoke Bean Around products.
For the businesses we work with, it's a meaningful way to reduce their food waste and give it a genuinely useful second life. For us, it's a way to scale the circular model that Bean Around was built on. And for their customers and employees who receive bespoke Bean Around products, it's a piece of Irish skincare with a story worth telling.

Our packaging
We are committed to making every aspect of our business as sustainable as possible, including our packaging.
Our soap bars come in plastic-free, recyclable packaging. Our Signature Body and Face Scrub tube is made from post-consumer recycled plastic, material that has already had a previous life before becoming part of ours.
Proudly made in Ireland
We make everything here in Ireland. Keeping production local means a smaller carbon footprint, real relationships with the businesses we collect from, and the knowledge that every product leaves our hands exactly as it should.
We started Bean Around to give coffee a 'double shot' at life, welcoming it into the circular economy!
